The B-I-B-L-E

The Bible is God's Word. It is the firm foundation to build our life upon. But its complicated language and style make it inaccessible to children and early readers. By the time children can understand the Bible and read it on their own, we have lost many of them. They have already formed other patterns, and we can no longer interest them in reading the Bible. Children need to develop a habit of daily Bible reading when they are young.

There are many Bible story books, but they do not present the whole biblical text. And there are other children's Bibles. But they are not written in language and style accessible to children and early readers. The B-I-B-L-E is a series that presents the whole biblical text in language and style accessible to children and early readers.

My passion is to help children understand God's Word at an early age. My passion is to nurture in children the habit of daily reading of God's Word. If children will learn to obey and hold tightly to God's Word, it will help them resist the negative influences around them.

Stylistic features of The B-I-B-L-E make it accessible to children and early readers:

Short sentences
Minimum use of dependent clauses
Controlled vocabulary--a total vocabulary of less than 650 root words, not counting proper names
Minimum use of passive construction
Minimum use of perfect construction, using present or past whenever possible
Some repetition of subject or object, decreasing the use of pronouns that represent an antecedent
Parallel construction—the repetition of language patterns contributes to reading mastery
